HELP!!
I believe I got a wrong order on my chicks.

What I ordered was:
1 Jersey Giant (Straight Run)
&
2 Light Brahmas (Female)

So they are 5 weeks old. I'm not seeing any leg feathering yet, and these are really black.
What do you all think these are?

I'll get more pictures if you want....

Thank you to all who guess and give knowledge.

The pics you posted all look like Black Jersey Giants. I see no light Brahamas. Did the hatchery send a packing slip? The 2 hatcheries I ordered from shipped packing slips. BUT fair warning, one was wrong. The slip said what I ordered. They emailed me a certificate of what was actually shipped, because they didn't have the breed I ordered & they substituted (after good communication & aggreeing to substitute).

On the question about the feathered feet, with light Brahamas, you can see the feathered feet on day one.

They have yellow feet!

Now, tails....you think we have a rooster in the group? Why would one be so different?
My packing slip says exactly what I ordered and substitutions: none

Call the hatchery and inform them of their mistake. Light Brahmas look nothing like Jersey Giants, even as chicks. As for gender, no obvious cockerels yet.

I'd call em as well. I ordered 100 chicks this year and 25 turned out to be the wrong color "I ordered Pearl OEG and got Porcelains" and the shipped me 25 of what I ordered for free.

I raise Black Jersey Giants. Since yours are a few months old, it's just a waiting game. The cockerels will develop a larger comb, small spurs, and the most obvious sign will be if it's a cockerel, it will get larger much quicker. The pullets grow slowly, but keep growing for a year.

As for the mix up with the hatchery, definitely contact them asap. I hope they make it right. Most hatcheries have a limited time to file complaints though-usually a week. Good luck. Please keep us posted.
