I would like to know if anyone knows how often a 1 +1/2 year old Narangansette turkey lays an egg?

What is the normal yearly laying cycle? Do they lay year round, or only during certain seasons?

(I know I keep spelling it wrong..could someone please correct me? [IMG] )

Most turkeys start laying in the spring and stop when it gets hot or to cold. Some will also lay in the fall if your weather is nice. My turkeys have been laying strong all year. About a week ago I noticed a slow down in a few of my hens. All turkeys stop laying if you let them get broody. If they sit on eggs they might not start laying until the poults are grown. I collect eggs a few times a day to keep mine laying. Alot has to do with where you live. The fertility of the eggs are not at peak early in the year. I am not sure if that has to do with the Toms or the cold weather. Sometime the heat can hurt the eggs too.
