Does anyone know of any local "shows" in the Greensboro, NC area (or anywhere else in NC) where my husband and I could see different chicken breeds in person? We saw some at the fair this past fall, but are ready to get some new girls this spring and want to see them. We are still pretty new to the chicken world and would like to make sure we are getting what we really want. In this past year we have had (and lost) 3 red sex links, 1 ee, and 6 barred rocks. We have 8 Cochins right now, and feel much more confidence in their safety these days so we are ready to expand!

There is also a Chickenstock, which is a buy/sell/swap/gossip day, that is in Lincolnton. The date has not been set yet, but it is normally around May.

I have attended this show before(Unifour in Salisbury) it is 2 hours from me. Is this the same date and place as usual? I might be able to meet some of you all on here at the show. :)

I want to get my start of birds down at the chicken show. I am already looking forward to the Unifour show. Are they having it at the Rowan county fairgrounds in Salisbury?

Does anyone ever bring show quality fowl to set up outside and sell? I have only been there to enjoy the show but now I am wanting to buy different kinds of breeds to have in my yard. I have a pretty good sized free range area where I could keep a bunch. I would like to get some nice chickens I hope there is a big turn out.

There are always chickens to buy ranging from Show birds to farm birds. Price increases greatly the better quality the bird. If you see a specific breed/variety you would like to get started with inside then the exhibitor directory that is available at the show can also help you make contacts for the future.
