Hit by winds in excess of 60 mph we quite literally came within inches of disaster. After viewing the devastation It is difficult to believe both coops survived. There was very minor damage to the chicken
coop and no damage at all to the turkey coop in the background.

That big section of tree is more than 75' long but somehow missed both the shed on the background and the utility trailer parked next to it.

The butt of this large branch landed less than two inches from the front of the coop.

  2. Was it due to the tornadoes? I was praying our power wouldn't go out the other day when there were 20+ tornadoes in the Midwest. I have week old chicks in our garage and I didn't want the heat lamp to turn off! :welcome I am new too! :D

These were straight line winds. There is a lot of damage in the area but fortunately we did not loose power. Our chickens are full grown and seem to have taken all the excitement it stride.
