We got our beautifl RIR roo from a farmer a few months back. He's over a year old. According to the farmer the roo got into many fights with an older roo and had a few injuries. What we didn't know then but know now is he has a severe case of bumblefoot. We just thought he had malformed feet. Since finding out it's bumblefoot we've been keeping it clean, we did remove some scabbing and have been giving him avian penicillin on top of keeping the area dry and wrapped. The sight is just getting worse. He's lost a large portion of skin and the foot is just filled with plaque. I'm debating putting him down. He's an amazing boy, so calm and well behaved. Posted is a picture of the hole. He's currently resting in the tub in a betadine soak. What do you all think? Is it even treatable past this point? He's in great spirits and limps sparingly.
