My chicks were stinking to high heaven and putting dust everywhere. I made a make-shift area in my coop by dividing the 4x8 section in half. I put them in it for the night. THey have alight and under the light it is about 82*F. The ourside air tonight will be about 40*F. Are they going to be ok? The coop has two "window" screen holes way up the wall and I have no way to close it. I don't want them to freeze. When I checked on them they seemed alright, they were not all hudled up...any advice is appreciated.

I would think that if they have a heat lamp and are not chirping in distress they should be ok. Maybe someone with more experience can help out. Can you check on them for a bit to make sure they are still peaceful?
