Hello, I'm so glad to know I'm not alone in the chicken world! I've recently built a beautiful chicken coop and yard. I have two precious chickens..Miss Daisy and Miss Judith Ann. They patiently allow my grandchildren to stroke their feathers and check for eggs. I am enjoying my own homegrown fresh eggs for the first time in about 30 years! I am a retired teacher and presently a Girl Scout Leader. I raise a garden and have a few cows and horses. I have a grand-daughter who wants to show chickens this fall as her 4-H project. I am trying to get in touch with (primarily) heritage show-quality chicken breeders. My girl(9 yr. old grand-daughter) has narrowed her list to four: Rhode Island Red, Barred Plymouth Rock, Wetsummer, and Black Copper Marans. I need help locating these show quality birds as our "cut-off date" for the State Fair is July 1. Please help me to locate these birds so she can get started with their care, and so she will do well in the show. Thanks.
