My first time with chickens

 I just went out to visit with my chicks and one of them had some blood where her tail feathers go into her skin not lots of it but enough for the other chickens to peck at her. I took her out and put her into a different brooder cage by herself.

Is this the right thing to do? till it looks like its healing

I heard of people putting black grease on the spot to cover it up?

Any ideas of what it may be from?

Any advice I would love to have....... THANKS

Sorry about your chickie's boo boo. You did the right thing removing her, chickens will peck at anything red and can kill each other that way. You're thinking about blue kote, it's available wherever you get your feed and covers cuts until they heal. Watch the chick, though, some chickens are attracted to blue kote as well so if she's still getting pecked remove her until she's healed up.
