Need help convincing the town council.

I would like to gather some facts to present to the town council showing that Backyard Chickens are not bad. I was thinking maybe I could get some information from other towns that have legalized Backyard Chickens. Many people imagine horror stories about what will happen if chickens are allowed. I'd like to get some evidence of how there was no mass infestation of rats, no disease epidemics, no precipitous drop in property values etc. if you were involved in getting your town to legalize Backyard Chickens, do you have any contacts in the city government that were friendly to the cause, that might be willing to help? I'm hoping to get an email or letter from a city employee confirming that Backyard Chickens have not had a negative impact on the town. If you could put me in touch with anyone you think might help, I would be grateful.
