Hello,

I’m on day 20 of hatching two Muscovy duck eggs. Turning 3 times a day. 37.5 degrees and I’m so confused on humidity because I’ve read so many different forums and articles online. I try to aim for more of a dry hatch so it’s usually around 47/48% I’ve tried cooling and misting one or two times so far. The problem is one so much bigger than the other and the air sac is quite different. There’s movement and veins in the eggs but I’m worried about the air sac development? Do I need to increase or decrease humidity and what should I be sticking to? I’ve attached some photos taken today day 20. I candled earlier and the smaller egg was just a big black mass with no visible air sac? But I think I might’ve captured them just now? Any advice would be greatly appreciated thank you!

Is it possible 1 is farther along than the other? I'm just on my second (and 3rd) clutch at the moment so I could be mistaken but the last pics look like a more developed egg? Could be lighting and positioning of the embryo tho. Also, I havnt researched dry incubating but I have a clutch under momma and a clutch in my incubator and I believe with muscovies it Is better to have a higher humidity than not. Like mentioned before humidity is most important during lock down because you don't want your babies getting shrink wrapped when they start to externally pip.ill do more research because I'm now curious as well and update my reply if I find any notable info for you!

Ok, so , where are you located, what is your typical humidity level where you are incubating and what type of incubator are you using? Those all play a part. Have you read this thread it has so much useful info!! And explains everything so well!

I read in there that weighing the eggs is pretty much the only way to know for sure how much fluid it has lost and without a base weight it's hard to know for sure if you need to turn humidity up or down. Especially since one is showing different than the other. We're/ who are the eggs from?
