These are my bantam rooster & hen, which I rescued from a farm, but I wasn't told what breed(s) they are. I don't even know how old they are. I was looking for bantam chicks, but they said they only had these 2 and the hen hadn't been doing well since being moved into general population so I took these guys as adults :)
I'm especially curious because the hen is broody with a full nest of eggs at the moment.

Any idea? Any help much appreciated!

They are mixes. Possibly d'uccle and silkie.

    I agree.
I did LOL at them a bit though I must admit. Those little crests made me smile.
What fun if she hatches some out that will be a real treat!

Wow I never would have guessed. They don't have the fluffy legs or anything, but I figured they were a mix of some sort. Thanks!

The "silkie" feathering gene is recessive. You lose it in the first cross. They'll have to be at least 3/4 Silkie blood to get the "silkie" feathering.

Aww. Their chicks are adorable, and fun colored. The parents look like silkie/japaneses to me.
