My source for my second incubator that I was going to use as a hatcher may fall through. I have to go into lockdown this weekend. I have 3 sets of eggs with separate hatch dates in the same incubator. The 1st set are due on Wednesday, the second on the 6th, and the third on the 15th. I will have a separate hatcher for the following two sets, but I may not get it in time for this set. How do I do a staggered hatch without a separate hatcher? Especially this late in the game? OR if anyone has any good ideas for making my own hatcher out of crap I may have laying around the house.....that would be awesome.

What do you have going now?

We have had chicks hatch many times without going through the infamous lockdown,

I would stop turning them, or pull them out of the turner (whatever the situation is).

We tend to run 50% humidity throughout, without bumping it at the end, and do very well in the hatching department.

I am sure it will work out in the end.

Good luck,

I only have 1 cheap incubator that has been hatching eggs left & right. Right now I have chicks hatching just about every day & I just quickly go in, grab the old shell and the chick, then turn the eggs that need turning and close it up until the next one hatches. I have always hatched at 98%, so I don't worry about it. I only have 3 hens, so I have to do what I have to do to get babies.

This is pretty much what I have done for staggered hatches! Last spring I had batches hatching each week for 8 weeks straight with one incubator. I never had a problem with hatch rates.

Ok, I may have left out a key piece of information. I am doing dry incubation. Does that change things? Also, I am using an LG with a fan. I only have one turkey hen, so I am doing sets every week to get as many as I can. I also have set chicken eggs to coincide with the turkey hatches.
