Need help sexing a sex month old Bourbon Red

I bought this bourbon red "hen" for my new tom. I am super super green when it comes to turkeys so I need some help. She doesn't look like hens I've seen pics off.

Haha thanks! I'm so used to my chickens that turkeys are something new.

At 6 months old, that's a hen. They lack the curricles, big snood, and they have the feather mohawk up their head. I don't recall seeing my hen's snood droop but I imagine some have bigger ones than others.

Her face doesnt turn colors like my tom either.

Yes, that's another good sign. Turkeys have such character. I have a hen and tom that are pretty much lawn ornaments because I've never got babies off of them. I raise some poults every year for the freezer too. But I love my two adults.

Umm, no? Wow that's weird. Was she without a tom before? Maybe they are like hens and will gobble if no males around. She sure looks like a hen to me. Mine are mating now. How does your tom act with her? Doing the dance and back massage? It's really funny to watch. She should start laying this month or next, then you'll know for sure.

She was in a pen next her brother who is totally strutting. My tom Teddy is strutting and trying to.impress her.

Ok, I'm sticking with hen. My tom always tried to beat up the new boys when they mature and dances around the girls. We'll see if someone else sees something I dont.
