Need help with door

I got the igloo dog house that was given to me all clean, finally. I need help figuring out how to attach a secure door. It will have 2 silkies in it and I want to be sure that nothing can get in. I was hoping to make a door with hardware fabric to help with ventilation but I can not figure out how to attach it.

What about tracing out a piece of 1/2 plywood then cut center out,attach hardware cloth,hindges and latch.

I am thinking of maybe putting hardware cloth, frame around it, and then bungee cording it across the front, top and bottom, and attaching the bungee cord ends to hooks inserted into the side of the igloo.
