Hi everyone,

I recently bought a little quail, and would like your help with identifying and sexing it.

I took some pictures with my cell phone, hope it's enough for the bird to be identified.

In case more photos are required, please let me know.

Your help will be appreciated!

Looks like a male to me. No spots on the breast.

There is a wealth of info on this site. Try a search. I'm positive you will find your answer...

ok so curious. I guess I'll have to make a color guide for quail on my site like I did rabbits but anyways.... What's the difference between cinnamon and fawn? In appearance not genetics. lol.

The Difference In Cinnamon And Fawn Is ...... Some Folks Say Fawn, And Others Say Cinnamon

There Is No Difference. They Are 1 In The Same. Some Would Call It Fawn, Some Would Call It Fawn/ginger (because Of The Lighter Stripes Down The Feather Shafts) Some Call It Cinnamon---- Welcome To The Confusing Color Name Game

Fawn Ginger Is Actually An English Term (they Come Up With All Kinds Of Weird Stuff Light Dark Range, And What Not) I Suspect Fawn Is A Lazy American Way Of Saying Fawn Ginger.... But Cinnamon Is 100% Born Right Here In The Usa!

Oh, ok. lol. Well all I know is that in rabbits some breeds call the same color in one breed a different name in another breed even though genetically it's the same. etc. So makes sense in the quail world. And yeah with rabbits even the names of the breeds of rabbits across the oceans are different for the same breeds. We Americans must complicate things I guess.
