GREAT, I FIGURED IT OUT! :) I'M NEW HERE, CAN'T YOU TELL? :) I'M ON A NEW FORUM WITH A NEW LAPTOP! :/ ANYWAY, I HAVE A 22 WEEK OLD PLYMOUTH BARRED ROCK HEN (1 OF 6) WHICH I NOTICED TWO DAYS AGO WAS SITTING HEAD DOWN, EYES CLOSED, ACTING LATHARGIC, THEN REALIZED HER LEFT EYE IS CLOUDY. I IMEDDIATLEY ISOLATED HER TO A ANOTHER AREA OF THE PROPERTY. AFTER BROWSING YOUR FORUMS I WENT TO TSC AND PURCHASED AN ANTIBIOTIC (OXYTETRACYCLINE HCI) TO PUT IN HER WATER. ALSO, AN EYE GEL, AND AN ELECCTROLYTE, ALSO TO PUT IN HER WATER AS PER THE GAL AT TSC. SHE APPEARS TO BE EATING AND DRINKING. HER POOP IS NORMAL COLORED, BUT LOOSE. I EXAMINED HER VENT AND IT LOOKS LIKE IT'S SUPPOSED TO LOOK IF SHE'S LAYING (ACCORDING TO THE YOUTUBE VIDEOS:) ALL FIVE OF THE OTHER HENS (SAME BREED & AGE) ARE LAYING REGULAR NOW, BUT SHE HASN'T LAYED SINCE SHE'S BEEN ISOLATED, 2 DAYS NOW, SO I CAN'T SAY IF SHE'S STARTED TO LAY YET. I HAVE SEEN AN OCCASIONAL GREEN DIARRHEA IN THE MAIN PEN, BUT ATTRIBUTED THAT TO THE FACT I"VE BEEN SUPPLEMENTING THEIR LAYING RATION (PURINA) WITH MELONS AND PRODUCE. I DON'T KNOW IF HER SYMPTOMS ARE RELATED, OR NOT. I'M HOPING SOMEONE ON THE FORUM MORE EXPIERIENCED THAN I CAN PLEASE, PLEASE HELP ME. THE MAIN PEN IS ABOUT 8'X14'. I HAVE TRIED TO INCLUDE AS MUCH INFO AS MIGHT BE PERTINANT. HOPE IT HELPS. THANKS TO WHOEVER MAY BE ABLE TO ADVISE! :)

I hope your hen recovers real soon...so sorry she's not feeling good. Be sure NOT to eat eggs from her for now because of the antibiotics and other meds she's ingesting.

Thank you for your input. I will try to get more info posted soon. Trying to figure out if the eye thing is an injury or the onset of an illness.
