This is a 2 parter. 1. I need some ideas on how I can make the door to the coop more secure. So no predator can get a sneak attack. It's a TSC coop, it has the meal pull that bends and hangs on the outside when open. You can kinda see it in the first pic.
2. I have been putting dog crate trays in at night and removing them in the morning for makeshift poop catchers, because there is just no way to put in a poop shelf in my coop (hindsight is always 20/20). Is there any reason I shouldn't continue this throughout the winter? 2nd pic you can kinda see what Im talking about.

You're talking about the chicken door/pop door? Or are you talking about a human door that accesses the setup? IMO if you make the outside perimeter/run secure, then there's no need to make the chicken door secure.

For poop boards, just fabricate a wood stand or add a shelf/lip to the walls to hold them in place.
