I hope no one will think that me asking for prayers and good thoughts for a goldfish is blasphemous but I couldn't think
where else to go to ask where folks wouldn't say "It's just a fish. How can you be so attached to a fish?!?".
My DS and I have worked for 9 months to get our little fish tank up and running and cycled. We finally got all the chemicals, ammonia,
nitrites, nitrites, etc. to the levels we need and were quietly celebrating our hard won victory (our municipal water source comes with lots of ammonia
so it's been an uphill battle..). I thought we were in like Flynn but today one of our fish is swimming and kind of 'listing' to one side.
She has a good appetite and looks bright-eyed and happy but swimming sideways isn't usually a good sign for fish. We've been though
(and our little school of fish) have been though so much to get this tank in good shape. To loose one at this stage of the game would
be so hard. So please, anyone who has a spare prayer or a little good juju to throw our way- we'd sure appreciate some good thoughts for our little
fish. Her name is Rhode Island Red (yes, a goldfish named for a chicken... ask my 5 yr old- it made sense to him..) and she is a little fantail goldfish.
Thank you so much ya'll. It helps to know that there are other folks out there who love all their pets no matter whether they have fur,
feathers or fins as much as we love our babies!
