Is it safe to assume my eggs are growing? This is day 3. I don't see veins but they are pretty dark eggs. So do these look promising????

    Thanks in advance.

Day 3 is too early to tell, especially for standard size eggs. Wait until day 7 and candle again.

It's too early to really see veining. If you had a white egg you might be able to see a hint of it, but not in a brown one. Wait until day 5 or 6 and try again. [IMG]

yes, candling at day 3 is pretty early.
Candle at day 7 or if they are pretty dark eggs do it at day 10.
    Have fun with your hatch!

I know I know but I just can't help myself. LOL I keep telling myself as soon as I see veins I'll quit but I think we all know how that goes. I was joking with my hubs last night about putting hot wire around the bator.

LOL Christina I KNOW all about candling addiction so I can pick on you, it's just like picking on ME...

Ten and 14 days give you the most information about what's working and what isn't, especially if you have dark eggs. My eggs are REALLY brown and I was REALLY frustrated until day 16 when I could be absolutely positive the big dark blobs had indeed grown to fill most of the available space.

They're hatching today, so I guess it didn't do them any real harm...

Day 7 or 10 then you know what your looking for, if you have a questionable egg mark it and candle again at day 14 for further growth. [IMG]
