I have three bared rock hens that are about 23 weeks old. They are all making this croaking sounds, it's really strange. They make regular clucking sounds but this deep croaking sounds I have no idea what it is. Are they sick or is this normal?

Have they started laying eggs yet?

No. I haven't even seen them sitting in the nesting boxes

Maybe they are just chatting? My barred rock was always my loudest bird before she passed away. Also, put some fake eggs in the nesting boxes and they will start laying. Have a great day!
