I'm new to this whole chicken raising thing, so can anyone give me any tips on sexing, brooding, hatching, etc.? Anything helps! :)

Don't get caught up in all info and worry. Chickens are the easiest livestock to keep. All one really needs is common sense and good observation. The birds will tell you if they need anything if you observe them well.

I'm often confused how people have 17 week old birds and still wonder if they've a cockerel in the flock. The differences are quite obvious as early as 5 weeks and more so as the weeks roll on. Excepting rose comb a pullets comb will not be at all red until getting to point of lay. Anything else is a cockerel. That alone makes it easy to sex if you observe your birds at all. Take note of details. They'll speak for themselves.

Have fun with it.
