I would love to mail my mother 2 dozen eggs, just for eating (not hatching.) I put this in this forum because I know that people who buy hatching eggs receive them in the mail and maybe you can tell me how they are packaged?? I have no idea. They will be traveling about 800 miles and I also don't know which carrier to use. USPS, UPS, FedEx, other?

Any and all advice would be very much appreciated.

USPS is the fastest method I have used that is cheapest. I bet you could fit your eggs in a medium flat rate box and pay just under $12. I have shipped from Florida to Vermont and had them delivered in two days. When I ship eggs I use a egg carton packed with wood shavings and wrap eggs in tissue paper and wrap the whole carton and stuff the box in tissue paper, I think packing peanuts might work. Since the eggs you want to ship are for consumption, I would put an ice pack in and put a zip lock bag over the egg carton to prevent shavings or tissue paper from getting wet.

Good luck!
