Mr. Peaches is one of our "neighborhood ducks". He just showed up on day and integrated himself with the flock of ducks that lives in our pond. He came into the front yard today limping pretty badly. I was able to catch him and currently have him in a large dog crate. There are no visible injuries. We just had to spend over $500 at the vet on our two chickens, so money is pretty tight and I'd like to avoid another visit if possible 😩

Here are two clips of him limping. The thing on his foot in the first clip was just grass or some kind of plant matter.

He's giving me the stink eye. poor baby have him set up with food and water in a dark room with a YouTube video with music entitled "relaxing music for birds." 😩

Did you do a full body exam? Check for sores, punctures and any other wounds. Feel his legs for heat, swelling and check his feet for bumbles. If you have any poultry electrolyte and vitamin supplements I would start him on one.
I'll do that right now and report back. I had wanted to get him settled in and calmed down for a bit. And yes, I have sav-a-chick electrolyte formula. I'll get that started.

Okay, no visible wounds. I'm on the fence though as to whether or not there's something going on with his left wing. He was fine with me extending his right wing, but didn't like it when I tried to do the left and there's a feather in kind of a funny position. I think there may be some slight swelling in his leg. Sorry the pictures are so dark, it was easier to take photos of him in the crate rather than while I was holding him. He was getting pretty stressed. Do you recommend also giving him aspirin water? I can't remember the dosage for ducks though. The aspirin I have is 81mg.

I also examined the leg and gently squeezed up and down it with my fingers and there wasn't any part of it that I touched that made him react.
