Trying to give a good description, but I live 1 house away from a corner, so along my side, I have 4 neighbors. One backyard is against my front, #2's backyard is against my side yard, #3's yard is against my back yard, and #4's extends behind my yard. #4 has a totally fenced in yard.

My 4 big girls seem to totaly enjoy #3's yard over my own. Those neighbors are an older couple who seemed to not mind. Even so, at first, I would go outside, and call them back, but the neighbor would say to let them be. Now, we all know that we shouldn't impose on neighbors, even if they say it's alright. Maybe they were just being nice.
Nope, they weren't just being nice. They sit outside at night and watch Chicken TV. They bring out treats for the girls (after asking approval) They put out a pan of water for the hot days. They call them " The Ladies".
Two weeks ago, the ladies went around the fence that seperates neighbors 3 and 4, and into neighbor 4's garage. So I gathered them up, handed them over the fence to the neighbor, and we got them rounded up. I decided the girls needed to be "grounded".
Three days later, my neighbor " complained". She asked where " The ladies" have been, and when I told her they were grounded, she said she missed them.
It seems she has told everyone she knows how The Ladies come and visit her everyday. And yes, shes admitted people think shes nutty for getting excited over chickens.
Her husband was out there last night throwing treats saying very loudly " Here my little chickens" ( looking my way to make sure I heard LOL). I looked out later, and they were both watching Chicken TV. And one of the girls was on the arm of the chair. I went over, and the man was telling me excitedly how the chickens came running to him when he came home from work. And the woman said she thinks if we didnt have the chickens for her to watch, shes probably go nuts.
So, I am gonna have to let them loose a little each day- even if they happen to end up in neighor 4's garage ( which they did again yesterday). Because we can't deprive a couple of theraputical chicken antics, can we?

How very sweet of you to " share" your ladies. I know my mother loves to come out and just sit under the willow...and watch them. But she would never be able to care for a small flock of her own. Also, on the plus side.....at least they are not makeing complaints against them..and....you have 2 extra sets of eyes, watching over them. [IMG]

Lucky you!! Block off access to neighbor #4's garage if possible and then teach neighbors #3 to care for the chickens. Instant babysitters that will take good care of your flock like its their own. Chickflick and myself take care of each others chickens, can't pay for care like that.

My neighbor is in love with our girls too! She brings treats, etc... She asked permission to let herself through the side fence to visit from time to time when I'm at work. She has also turned into the best chicken sitter I could have ever asked for! She knows just what to do for them and I never worry when we are out of town on occasion. [IMG]

Well that's good they like them.
Some neighbors would appear with a shotgun instead of treats.

Sounds like good neighbors to me. Maybe we should start a "good deeds done by good neighbors" thread. [IMG]

I thought I was going to raise stupid chickens for eggs and meat.
Never thought they would actually be fun AND entertaining. Now they're not quite so stupid either. [IMG]

You ARE very lucky! We would go watch chicken tv a few miles down the road from us too [IMG] The lady finally was out while we watched her chickens. I yelled hello to her and she comes over to the car and talks to us. I blamed it on my 3 yr old son! [IMG] [IMG] It was actually ME who wanted to watch chicken tv! [IMG] I can't help it...I'm chicken addicted. NOW I DO have my own and I can sit out there all day just watching them!
