Over the last week or so, my 12-week old chickens have become Nervous Nellies. Today they wouldn't freerange because something was spooking them -- I think my neighbor's chainsaw. They stayed in the coop while my rooster paced around saying buh-KAWK! But the other day they wouldn't go more than a couple yards from the henhouse, and I had no clue why. When a cat so much as walks by the run, they go hide inside. Are they going to grow out of this, or is this why they call them "chicken"?
