    I have 2- 23 week old GSL's and 2- 12 week old production reds.
    NO eggs yet.
Anyway, they sleep on a roost in their coop, but they (not sure who) go into the nesting boxes to look around and hang out, messing the shavings all up.

    Should I block them off?
I know the GSL's should be laying by now and I hate to block them off if they are getting ready to lay.

I wouldn't. I suspect this is part of the transition into laying.

They are "nesting" getting a feel for that nesting box. Put a couple of golf balls in the nest and make them think that next box is the most posh place to lay some eggs. For some reason, mine prefer one place over the other four. This changes when ever I clean and re hay the boxes and then another place is "the Place" ...Birds of a feather....

Watch their combs and wattles. They will become vivid bright cherry red when they ovulate. You might see them squatting when you are near too.

    They eggs will come!

Thank you both so much! I will keep watch and put some golf balls in.
