never mind - found it! how is "maran" pronounced?

Never mind. Should have done my research FIRST. Found a 2007 thread. "marans" rhymes with Karen.

I have a debate with 2 friends. We are disagreeing over how "maran" is pronounced.
I say "meh-ren" with emphasis on first syllable
Patricia says, "Mah-rahn" emphasis 2nd syllable
Andrea says, "Mah-ren" emphasis 1st syllable

I can't find it in dictionary or wikipedia.

Does anybody REALLY know for sure??
