Never throw out eggs!

I have a broody hen that has been sitting on 9 eggs. I candled on day 16 and thought only 6 were actually progressing. The others looked dead - no blood rings, but no veins or movement, and seemed runny. So I only expected a few chicks. Well here it is day 21 and we're on chick number 8!!!! I am so glad I didn't throw out the other eggs! My new broody Mom is so excited!

LOL, yes! I can really only keep 1. I did not expect this many to hatch! I gave her a bunch of eggs just so I knew something would hatch!

Why thanks! I didn't even notice the picture didn't go up.

I can only keep 1 because I have enough chickens! I knew from the beginning that I would be giving most of them away once they're a little older.
