I hoping someone can pass on good chicken keeping experience to help me deal with a new hen.
My new hen is very lovely and confident with people but aggressive with my other 4 hens. All she wants to do is fight.
On the first meeting with them 3 just hid and she and my top hen went at it like two cockerels, drawing blood. I quickly stepped in! If they see each other through the wire they start having a go. I now have her in a pen so that they can all see each other but get in pecking distance.
My question is, is my new hen ever going to calm down and stopping attacking my top hen as currently neither will back down.
Any advice on what to do?
My current flock are very easy going and new introduction have the usual fuss but nothing like this.
