A coyote recently got one of my roosters and two of my hens a few weeks later. When the rooster passed, I quickly incubated 12 eggs hoping for some of his children. I was unsure about fertility, as a lot of my hens were still younger, and in fear of losing the chance to have any of his babies, a few eggs that were washed and refrigerated were put in the incubator, despite the fact that I know that reduces hatchability.
I was delighted when ALL 12 eggs began developing, and I am even more thrilled that all 12 survived the entirety of incubation and all hatched!
Here are my twelve babies. 🥰
