I ended up with 4 Cochin babies out of 15 eggs - not too good, but I never thought about trimming poofy butt feathers. [IMG]

BUT! I DID get some lavenders from my guineas, with hopefully more to come, she's still on about 20 eggs, and I've got 22 from the other hen that carries the genes in the incubator.

AW! Cute pics. The lav guineas are my favorite, but look how cute the others are with their chipmunk markings.

Are your cochins standard or bantam?

I've got a bantam black cochin rooster and no pullets or hens! He sure would like some company!

LF Cochins. We weren't going to get a roo of any kind, but I saw a trio of LF Cochins at the flea market and HAD to have them. I'm sure they were probably somebody's culls, maybe older hens(?) because one hen died of unknown causes just a few weeks after we got them. Anyway we sure do like them, so hopefully all 4 chicks we ended up with will make it. I would love to add some blues later; there's a LF Cochin breeder here in OK on the board, so maybe we can see them for some more.
