New baby mixed flock bedding?

    What bedding should I use for the bottom of my large, heated box for my baby chicks to reduce dust? Newbie here :)

    You could use straw, its what I use, and it seems to be less dusty then shavings or sand. However, even if you put something that wont make dust in the brooder, like paper towels, the chicks will still make their own. They're constantly shedding dander, the mess is unavoidable. If the dust is bothering you, figure out a way to move them outside ASAP or clean, clean, clean. I can't stand the dust they make, so I don't keep them in the house at all...
