This is a way of life/ lifestyle choice. Currently I have Ameraucana's, Cuckoo Maran's, Welsummers, Barnvelders & Delaware's , as well as Fancy Pigeon's (actually my daughters).

I dont have any birds yet. getting two silkies probably next week though to tide me over till we move to our farm. I know a few people who keep a variety of chickens. aoxa is your best bet for contacts on this forum from the maritimes though :)

Thanks! I follow her Blog & she now has a website. Going to try out her Fermented feed with my ladies... started it today actually!
We have had several Silkies, now just one Partridge Rooster from this Spring's Hatch. He's quite the personality!

Have been trying out the FF this past week, introducing it to my flock. Just feeding it in the mornings & a little at night before lights out, with the rest free choice grain (Lay mash).
I must day it really is a hit with my flock! They all pace around and wait impatiently as soon as they see me coming in the mornings! Have noticed quite a drop in their feed consumption already. Think I'm on to a good thing! Thanks all for the great tips and information!
