New Cabinet Incubator: Questions

Hi,

I’ve been using Incuview incubators for two years, and now I’m stepping up to a Dickey cabinet incubator and hatcher combo. I’ve been running them for about 2 days trying to get used to controls and have a couple of questions (not specific to Dickey’s!).

1. At what humidity do you run a cabinet incubator for days 1-18? I haven’t kept notes, but I *think* I ran my Incuviews at around 40-45%...? (Currently, I can’t get the incubator above 35% with the tray 5/6 full...)

2. What humidity do you run your incubator (using a hatcher drawer for days 18-21) or hatcher (dedicated)? I can’t get this Dickey’s past 45% at present conditions in my house, again, w tray 5/6 full... (Admittedly, winter mountain air is dry...)

I can only go from my experience from years ago ... temperature and humidity should be the same ... your surface area of water needs to be greater to give yourself greater humidity !!
40% humidity is fine for the first 18 days ... try a sponge or cloth in the water tray !!!
