new chick mom here. what gender are my babies

    I hope its a she. I have six one month old chicks and I think I only have one roo. This is my flock...this is the one I think is a rooster[​IMG]

    When Sourland refers to a pullet it means it's a girl. Pullet is the term given to females under a year it's kind of like a Heifer in cattle. On the other bird I would have to say your are correct on him being a boy (young boys are called Cockerels while mature males are cocks) It's a beautiful red cochin by the way.

    Thanks:) the picture with the two birds are both females I think. The other red Cochin has a much smaller comb than her brother. Red Cochin huh? Thought he was a buff
