New chicken farmer

I've been reading your website the last few days and wish I would have found y'all earlier.

I received my dozen laying hens today and realized reading through here that the carefresh natural bedding I bought is never used. Is it okay to use for the new chicks? It says it is good for all kinds of small pets including small birds.

Not sure either, but I bet if you call your local feed and supply store, they could tell you. Or call the Hatchery you bought the chicks from. I find them very useful at times.

Hi, welcome to BYC.

My main concern would be them eating the pellets. But I'm looking at it online, I'd have to see/feel it to say for sure.
