Just got my first chickens and building a coop. I'm also in florida. About an hour South of you on the treasure coast. Had mine 2 weeks now and there allready going fast and alot of fun.

You may want to join your state thread and find out what is going on around you. You may even find you have BYCers as neighbors. Just put "Florida," in the search box and it should pop up.
