Hi all. I found this forum when looking for chicken breeds.

I am a homeschooling, homesteading mom from Missouri. We have our first batch of chickens and it is great fun. We just finish making our first chicken tractor. Well, finished is not quite the word for it. It is functioning but we are finding out daily the things we need to add to it, or changes that have to be made. It is all quite a learning process.

Glad to meet you all and I am sure I will be posting a lot! [IMG]

There is a local meetup group for the St. Louis area (although I dont think geography is a requirement).

    http://www.meetup.com/stlouischickens/

It is nice to talk about local concerns, give tips on where to buy different things, members have split the 25 min chick order, etc.

    PS
My chicks are due to hatch March 25, I candled and I think I have 4 viable, I am so excited.
