Hey all! New chicken mom here (gift from the father in law at only seven hours old) I just have the one chick, very much a house chicken. Eight weeks old on Wednesday! They grow so fast! He /she is a bantam, a brahma bantam I think. Maybe an EE

I go back and forth between thinking hen or roo. She sometimes puffs up all his/her feathers like a a roo might, but ive also caught him/her making a nest with paper towels. I tried posting a month ago but Nugget was too young still. Any ideas? I only have the one so I've got nothing to compare to. [IMG]

I'm thinking roo because of the hackles outlined in black in the second pic. Being just the one, that's probably good. Roos make the best pets IMHO.

Here are a few more. I wouldn't mind a rooster, but my neighbors might.

Those ear tufts are just the funniest thing. I don't know why they make me laugh so much.
