Hi All!! My name is Leigh and I live in NW PA in the mountains. I am new to raising chickens. I have 3 barred rocks that are 4 months old. They are such a joy to have around; thay follow me around when I go out to feed them. If anyone has any suggestions on raising my beautiful chickens please feel free to sugest it to me!! Thanks

Hello :frow and Welcome To BYC! Barred Rocks are a nice breed, they should lay you lots of eggs! You might like to check out the BYC Learning Center, lots of good articles on all aspects of chicken keeping you'll find helpful with your new flock. https://www.backyardchickens.com/atype/1/Learning_Center And it is always fun to check out your state thread for chicken keeping neighbors and any suggestions they have for dealing with the weather etc in your area https://www.backyardchickens.com/t/270925/find-your-states-thread

Hello there and welcome to BYC! [IMG]

Barred Rocks are a fun breed to raise. I have some 14 week old Barred Rocks that are just the friendliest chicks ever! And great lap sitters too.

Enjoy your babies and welcome to our flock!
