Hi everyone - loving this site. We decided to get 3 chooks a fortnight ago, and within the last two weeks we have expanded the coop and now have 8 girls. Definitely an addictive hobby and we are so proud of each and every egg! We have Hylines and Brown Shavers at present but I just know that a silky or something just as cute will be added soon...

Wow, the addiction hit you quickly, didn't it!?!?

When I first got chickens, I had NO idea they had personalities. I mean, chickens, scratching the ground, clucking, laying eggs, what's there to develop for a personality trait? Boy, was I wrong! (And glad of it.)

You will love BYC, there are thousands of helpful people here. Chicken people. Folks who won't look at you funny when you report something cute one of your chickens did. And if you need questions answered, boy HOWDY will you get some assistance!
