new chicken

I have a new phiniox rooster. He has only been here 24 hours and has gotten out of the coop. he is behind our property in 80 acres out brush and trees. We have try to chase him back to our yard but he having none of it. He is out tonight and I am worried he will get eaten. I have put lights in the coop hoping he will go in again but I think he has been chased to much. I only put my 1st coop together yesterday and I guess you could say I am not off to a good start. Can someone help me get him back where he will be safe.

He will probable roost up in the trees when it starts to get dark. If you can find him and he's not up too high you maybe you could use a catching hook to hook one of his feet and get him that way. It's a thought.

we GENTLE TRIED AGAIN THIS MORNING TO GET HIM BACK THROUGH THE FENCE HE SO EASILY SLIPPED OUT OF WHEN HE ESCAPED. BUT NOW SEEMS TO THINK IT IS TO SMALL TO GET BACK. LATER TODAY I WILL TRY AND SEE HIM AGAIN AND LEAVE HIM BE TILL DACK AND TRY TO GET HIM THAT WAY THANKS FOR THE HELP. ALEAST HE IS STAYING CLOSE AND NOT USING THE WHOLE 80 ACRES. I NEVER THOUGHT WHEN I GOT CHICKEN IT WOULD BE A WEIGHT LOSE PROGRAM BUT HERE AM THROUGH HILL AND DELL. CHICKEN 3 ME 0 BUT GAME IS STILL ON UNTIL I DROP DEAD OR HE IS EATEN. BUT LETS NOT PRAY FOR THAT HE IS SO PRETTY.

Some good some sad I was able to trap my phinox rooster but sadly his breeding mate who also got out Thanks to my 5 pd shitz su pestering her in the box before I could get her in the coop has been found or what is left of her. I feel bad having lost her but that said in the process of trying to get her I had 1 face plant. and a tumble down a hill that was at 5:00 as work was coming home. A lovely lady stop to ask if I was alright I assured her I was fine but in the process tracffic was building up behind her who all had to stop and get a good look at me as I sat on the side of a hill in my white jacket and a growing bush between my legs. all the while pretending to be looking for something dropped and also trying to figure out I will get up without looking any more like a clod. so while sorry to have lost her my blood and bruised face who when my brother saw me said that I looked like I had been in a bar fight and lost. This is not what I pictured when have cutechickens and a peacock in my backyard. I hope things start going better. For myself and my chickens.
