    Hello everyone.
We're starting a flock the wrong way prolly but we're getting 17 Cuckoo Marans tomorrow they're 13 days old.

I know nothing of the breed, just a Craigslist ad and a good price. We have 14 acres in the country so no city regs here.

Keep you all posted andsome pictures later.

    Welcome,
Marans are a french egg laying breed that lays dark almost chocolate brown eggs.

    Good Luck with you chicks,
    Henry

They need to be kept warm since they are still chicks! Welcome...and I look forward to seeing pictures. This is a great site for asking questions, too!

Welcome catfish. Just give em a heat lamp, food, water and a safe dry place to sleep.

I do not know a lot about the breed except they are layers of a really dark brown egg...like a candy bar. I think that is cool. I think they are a european breed.

    Good luck with them. [IMG]
