New chicks on medicated feed-- do they need vitamins?

My new chicks are on medicated feed (crumbles), but I've read that many of you put vitamins in their water, too... Is it overkill to do both? I want to keep them healthy, but I need to find a good balance between optimum diet and supplementation...

chicks or chickens? My guess is no, esp if they are full grown and healthy.

They don't need vitamins as that is usually just for a short while till they get up on their feet in the first few days, or if the birds get sick, or sustain injury.
