One of my game hens just hatched 10 chicks. She was hiding in the yard, and I thought she ran away. Should she have hatched chicks this late in the year?

Quote:Well the chicken knows what shes doing. the body warmth of the momma can keep the babies at the right temperature until they are ready to go out on their own. just make sure that momma and babies have a place to go that sheltered from the weather and from predators (i always use a large plastic dog crate) and it should all be just fine! Congrats on the new fuzzy butts! [IMG]
