NEW chicks today - BIG question...

got 3 chicks from mypetchicken today. sooo cute. question, one has figured out the water thing, the other two are only eating mash. i keep trying to get the other two to drink water, but it's not working. someone tell me they can figure this out....joy

Take their little beaks and dip it in water. Some people put sugar in the water for the first day but I've never had to do that. Good luck.

You can get a syringe/eye dropper, and mix up some sugar water/electrolytes. Hold the chick in one hand and "wipe" the water from the dropper along the edge of their beak. It will taste sweet and the chick will *licklicklick*, show some interest, and then hopefully peck at the syringe.

Try not to squirt them in the face, though. They hate that.

Once the other ones see the one doing it the others will try to do the same but just in case i would dip their little beeks in the water real fast and they should get the idea!
