My chicks are 3 weeks old and all flying around the enclosure. Should I be concerned or do anything different. I have to adult Rhode Islands that may peck them so I am hesitant to put them in the big house.

The chicks are living in a pen outside right now? Or is this photo just a temporary thing (like letting them out for an hour to explore).

What was your plan for integration? If you set up for it you can start working on integration right now.

I gave my 10 day old chicks access to a mini pen (attached to their brooder) so they can play around outside and the adults can come get a closer look at them. They don't yet "need" the extra space but they're certainly enjoying it. By next week I will let the chicks and adults mingle beyond the fence.

Hi,
Project going great. 2 smaller enclosures below my big girls Martha and Mary ( my Rhode Island red and New Hampshire ). The big girls are more than willing to oeck the uoungsters- so everyone separated until the new brood cannot defend themselves.
Next project is a portable play pen to protect the babies from our resident chicken hawk while learning to forage.
