    yay!! New peeps [​IMG] [​IMG] [​IMG] [​IMG] [​IMG] [​IMG]

    I just got back from raleigh and heard peeping from under a hen! Haven't seen them yet but once they come out from under her, Ill snap a few pics and post them here [​IMG]

    lifted up the hen a few mins ago and found an egg cracked...it was peeping and rocking back and forth so it looks like we are going to have a new chick! There were also 9 other eggs that should be hatching any time now.

    Tomorrow morning the chick should be hatched out. I'm going to move the hen,the chick and the eggs in an old rabbit hutch that we have used with broodies before. Right now they are up high in the nesting box though. I will try to take&post a few pix.

    UPDATE: checked under hen a few mins ago and found a dead chick with the beak poking out of the egg. I think the hen cracked it on accident. She had made a mess in her nesting box..there were cracked egg everywhere! Well that didn't go good...tomorrow I am going to get 2 chicks from tractor supply if the still have them. I will see if she wants to raise them.

    turns out the limit was 6. I got some out of the pullet bin, but need help telling which breed. Im going to post a new topic in a different section
