Can anyone help. I have three chicks, first time breeder! Mum left the nest on the day before hatching due to mites. I rescued the eggs built an incubator and to my surprise got three chicks. One has had pasty butt but seems ok now, but she has now developed a scaly beak and what looks like wet feathers on her neck. Any ideas? She is eating and drinking normally. Thanks.

are the chicks in the same area the mom lived in? has it been cleaned for mites? I would be worried about them getting mites

can you take pics of the neck and beak? wet feathers could be new growth feathers maybe, they look kind of weird at first

Thanks for replying, the chicks have never been with the mum and never been exposed to her environment. I can't see any mites on them. I have tried cleaning the breast area and it is looking better. Maybe it was just some left over egg stuff? She still has a sort of scaly beak though? I can't seem to be able to post a picture it won't upload???
