New Concrete Step to Coop Porch

This morning my dad, aka Pop's, added a concrete step in front of the coop porch. As Pop's and my mom are in their mid-60's, they have found the higher step from porch to ground to be hard on the knees. The rise is a good 12 to 15 inches.

So Pop's framed in an area and poured some concrete. All was well, until my son went out to see if a couple of the hens had finally laid their eggs for the day. He sent a text message to my mom stating that "someone" had been on the wet concrete. Uh oh! Out we went to see. This is what we found.

It looks like she decided that she didn't really want up on the porch, so she walked back over the wet cement and headed back in to the garden for some bug chasing time with the other girls.

Silly bird! It does add just the right touch to the whole coop though.

Ooohhhhh! I love concrete, it's so wash and go. Way to go Pops. We have been adding concrete patio for the past 2 years. It is now all done in the back yard. I love it. I have a blower and a hose. I have imprints of Hydrangea leaves all over.
